Abstract
<PICT:0870500/III/1> A plant for producing inert gases consisting of nitrogen and carbon dioxide, particularly for fire fighting and preventing, comprises an internal combustion gas turbine having a connection 15 through which oxygen-free or substantially oxygen-free gases can be bled off from a zone A where combustion is substantially complete. The connection 15 is annular, is connected to the zone A by branch pipes 17 and is located in a water cooling chamber 14. The oxygen-free gases pass out through a pipe 16 and are then passed through a water spray cooling chamber 18 before being piped to the point where they are required.
