869,518. Vehicle windscreens. LIBBEYOWENS-FORD GLASS CO. Oct. 28, 1958, No. 34425/58. Class 20(3) [Also in Group XXIII] A vehicle windscreen comprises an elongated glass sheet bent about both the longitudinal and transverse axes, the sheet being bent about the transverse axis rather gently in a central portion 46 merging adjacent the longitudinal extremities into regions of sharp curvature 48 to form wing portions 58 extending substantially in one direction in spaced planes, the sheet being also bent about the longitudinal axis to form a cap portion 52 extending longitudinally of the sheet and being non-uniformly curved about the longitudinal axis to extend in the same direction as the wing portions 58 and in a plane angularly disposed relative to the planes of the wing portions 58, the regions of sharp curvature 48 extending between the longitudinal edges of the sheet and the cap portion 52 being disposed between the regions of sharp curvature 48. As shown, the wing portions 58 are cut away at 60 but they may extend in direct continuation of the top edge. Specification 813,069 is referred to.
