A lawn scarifier comprises tines 10 mounted on arms 3 fixed to a body 1 capable of being secured to a power-driven shaft having a vertical axis, the tines 10 trailing from the arms and each having a tip 22 which catches in the lawn and a curved portion 20 which rides over the lawn so that when pressure is applied between the lawn and the tine, the tine is bent to disengage the tip of the tine from the lawn. Specification 796,700 is referred to.
