Abstract
867,378. Sink-and-float separators. PATRMAN, F. June 17, 1958 [June 17, 1957], No. 19346/58. Class 82(2) In a sink-and-float apparatus light material is removed from the surface of the separation liquid by rotatable drum V 2 which consists of perforated cylindrical surfaces X, X 1 (Fig. 4) connected by perforated walls P, P 1 all of which are joined to two lateral end walls mounted on a shaft. The vanes of rotating cylinder K1 shift the material in a horizontal direction towards drum V 2 . Closure member V 1 , which consists of rotatable cylinder provided with an opening O (Fig. 5), receives heavy material from separating container A and after rotation discharges such material into funnel b. A series of separating containers (Figs. 1 and 3, not shown) may be used for separating the light material into further fractions.
