Abstract

867,137. Brassieres. FORMFIT CO. June 23, 1959, No. 21548/59. Class 141 In a brassiere having padded cups, two stiffeners 22 are embedded in each pad 18. The stiffeners are spaced from the edges of the pad and arranged in upwardly convergent relationship, being pre-stressed to the same curvature as the pad. The stiffeners may be moulded directly into the foam rubber pad or attached to its inner surface and covered with foam rubber strips. A cloth cover 30 is provided on the inner surface of the pad. The pads are stitched to the brassiere, together with a cloth lining, around their edges. Further stiffeners are provided in the upper edges of the cups and in the body-encircling band at each side of the cups, Fig. 1 (not shown).
