Abstract

Compositions comprising by weight of the final composition (a) 50% rose tripoli, 7% unfused aluminium oxide, 30% stearic acid, 12% crocus powder (180 mesh), and 1% triethanolamine; (b) 18% crocus powder (180 mesh), 7.5% soft white silica, 50% rose tripoli, 6% unfused aluminium oxide, 17.5% stearic acid, and 1% triethanolamine; (c) 67% red iron oxide, 12% metallic aluminium powder, 20% tallow, and 1% triethanolamine; or (d) 29% red iron oxide (180 mesh), 35% corn emery (320 mesh), 10% metallic aluminium powder, 25% sodium stearate or stearic acid, and 1% triethanolamine are prepared by melting the stearic acid tallow or sodium stearate, adding the iron oxide followed by the aluminium oxide or metallic aluminium powder, mixing thoroughly and then adding the remaining substances. If required in brick or block form, the molten mixture is agitated whilst being poured into a mould. Perfumes such as oil of lavender, oil of Cologne or oil of jasmin may be included in amounts of 0.01-0.5 fluid ozs. per lb.
