Abstract
865,110. Transferring designs. BEACHAM, J. F., and SALARIYA, G. S. June 5, 1957 [March 5, 1956], No. 37320/59. Divided out of 865,109. Class 100(2) A sheet of paper first coated with starch or gum and starch is printed by any known method with a design and then brought into contact with a thermo plastic sheet of, for example, cellulose acetate, nitrocellulose, polyethylene or polystyrene, and heat and pressure are applied to transfer the design to the thermo plastic sheet, which may be transparent or white, the paper being removed by damping or washing. The thermo-plastic sheet may now be coated on the back with white ink, e.g. a white cellulose ink for a nitrocellulose sheet. The thermo plastic sheet can then be moulded into an article in relief, for use as an advertising device.
