Abstract
864,075. Lobster pots. LEAKEY, R. D. Jan. 13, 1960 [Oct. 17, 1958], No. 33147/58. Class 48. An entrance spout for a fish trap is formed by cutting a strip of netting, Fig. 1, from one selvedge F to. the other E so as to leave a trapezoidal panel which is then formed into a tapering tube by lacing together the raw edges G. The larger end of the spout is secured to a rectangular frame forming part of the structure of the trap, the seam H in the spout being located at the bottom. The narrow end of the spout is supported by a cord L which is threaded through four loops of the selvedge E at each side of the seam H and is anchored at each end to spaced frame members of the trap. The other loops of the selvedge E are unsupported. A strip of thermoplastic grating P may be secured to the floor of the spout. The inner end of the grating presents a series of small spikes R. A grating may also be secured to the roof of the spout. Specification 824,757 is referred to.
