Abstract

862,730. Sight testing apparatus. OCULUS OPTIKGERATE G.m.b.H. March 10, 1959 [March 10, 1958], No. 8302/59. Class 97(1) The apparatus comprises several instruments mounted on a common stand so that they may be used alternatively. As shown, a column 12 movable on a table-top 1 carries an arm 16 with a stud 17 on which an instrument holder 19 is rotatable. To this holder there are secured arms 20, 21, 22 and 23 carrying respectively a slit lamp 24, an ophthalmoscope 25, an ophthalmometer 26 and a lens determining instrument 27. Also carried by the stud is an arm 28 supporting a binocular magnifier 30 on the same level as a television camera 33 which is mounted on the column 12 so that it may be disposed either in front of the magnifier 30 or directly in front of the viewing aperture of the particular instrument being used so as to transmit an image of the eye to a screen 35. The column 12 is adjustable by levers 13, 14 longitudinally and transversely of the table-top 1 at which the patient is seated on an adjustable stool. The table-top 1 also supports at 6 and 7 an adjustable chin rest 8 and a forehead rest 9.
