Abstract

862,644. Gramophone pick-ups. PLESSEY CO. Ltd. Oct. 18, 1957 [Oct. 25, 1956], No. 32509/56. Class 40 (2). In a plural speed gramophone in which the pick-up 1 is fitted with Standard or L.P. styli, a lever 6 projects from the pick-up head and is engaged by a pin 10 on the speed-changing knob 3 so that the correct stylus is automatically selected if the speed is changed when the pickup is on the side rest. The knob 3 is locked against station when the pick-up is not on the side rest, since the rest forms one arm 2 of a bell-crank pivoted at 11 and of which the other arm 13 enters a notch 15 in a collar 14, when the pick-up is lifted. The lever 6 may be entirely within the head.
