Abstract

861,801. Switch covers. HARVEY HUBBELL Inc. May 8, 1959 [Dec. 11, 1958], No. 15856/59. Class 38 (5). A cover - plate 18 for weatherproofing a switch wall-box is made of a flexible rubber-like material with a peripheral flange 20 and a hollow dished portion 34 which allows the switch handle 12 to be operated. A stiffening-plate 29 is incorporated and has holes for the passage of fixing- screws which are pushed through locally thin places in the flexible plate 18. A peripheral groove 23 in the flexible plate permits the flange to accommodate itself to varying types of box. Cable access to the switch 11 is through a boss 13.
