Abstract

A fungicidal composition comprises cycloheximide and a solubilized lignin, e.g. lignosulphonate of an alkali metal including ammonium or an alkaline earth including magnesium or a lignate of an alkali metal including ammonium preferably in the proportion of about 1000 to 4000 parts of solubilized lignin for each part of cycloheximide. Surface-active agents, e.g. hydrocarbon sulphonate or a carboxy hydrocarbon sulphonate or an alkyl phosphate preferably in a proportion of between 50 to about 500 parts of each part of cycloheximide may also be incorporated. The composition may be in two parts, one part containing the cycloheximide in a water-dispersable powder isolated from the other part containing the solubilized lignin admixed with a liquid surfactant in a single packaging unit so that on mixing with water the spray mix is obtained. Insecticides, fungicides and bactericides, a citrate or phosphate buffer salt, spreaders and stickets may also be incorporated. Specifications 639,943 and 644,919 are referred to.
