Abstract

860,782. Moving-coil instruments. GONZALEZ, A. June 17, 1959 [June 18, 1958], No. 19425/58. Class 37. [Also in Group XXV] A pivot 5, intended for use in a moving-coil measuring instrument, is secured in a support member 7 which has substantially line contact with the internal wall 11 of a sleeve-like casing 1 in a plane substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the casing, the member 7 and casing 1 being biased apart in the direction of the longitudinal axis by a spring 16 which also retains the member in the normal centred position and the force of which can be adjusted by a screw 12. The member 7 has substantially frusto-conical portions 8, 9 united by an integral rim 10 of a diameter such that the member forms a friction-tight fit within the casing 1, and the neck portion 14 of the screw 12 fits with clearance in an aperture 3 in the casing to allow for lateral displacements ot the pivot.
