Abstract
859,152. Centrifugal pumps. VOITH G.m.b.H., J. M. April 14, 1959 [May 17, 1958], No. 12681/59. Class 110 (1). [Also in Group XXIX] A method of forming the connection between the two parts of the casing of a pump, comprises forming the cylindrical surfaces 7, 8 of their outer edges so that one can be pushed over the other, coating the surfaces with an adhesive, and thereafter pushing one on the other. In the hydraulic coupling shown, in which the pump impeller 1 forms one part of a rotary casing, the surfaces 7, 8 are on the impeller 1 and the other part 3 of the rotary casing and may be roughened before the application of the adhesive. The impeller 1 is laid on a table 10 and the part 3 pushed on to the impeller until it abuts a stop 9 which determines the relative positions of the parts. Alternatively, the relative positions may be determined by stops formed on one or other of the parts. One of the parts may be formed with a recess or depression into which the other is rolled or pressed. The adhesive may be chemically soluble so that the parts may be disconnected.
