The inflatable core of the parent Specification is modified by the end of the yieldable ring 8 having a closed end 11, whereby the ring completely closes the end of the inflatable member 1. The inside surface of the end may be convex, as shown, and there may be airescape grooves 12 in the inside cylindrical surface. In a modification the end 1<SP>1</SP> of the inflatable core is reduced in diameter and the outside diameter of the yieldable ring 21 is the same as that of the inflatable core 1. Another yieldable ring 8 may surround the ring 21, and may have a closed end, as in Fig. 10, which shows a core for moulding a three-branched pipe. The rings 8 and 21 may be in one unit. There may be internal strengthening ribs 25 in the member 1 in which steel wire may be embedded.
