Class 17(2) In making cemented footwear the lasting margin of a lasted upper of non porous material, e.g. plasticised polyvinyl chloride, is heated, and a sole coated with a heat-activatable cement is pressed thereagainst to effect a cement bond under the influence of the heat retained in the upper margin. The upper margins are heated to at least 120‹F., preferably in an infra red oven having a temperature of about 250-300‹F.
