855,807. Top lifts. HICK, H. Jan. 23, 1959 [Jan. 28, 1958], No. 2816/58. Class 17(3) An aluminium top lift 2 is attached to the heel of a shoe by means of a spike 3, which has a square or other cross-section which will prevent its rotation in the heel. Ridges 6 or serrations provide good grip. The top lift can be constructed by pressing, the spike being pressed down into the top lift simultaneously, a ridge 6a assisting to lock the spike in position.
