853,877. Photographic method and assemblage therefor. INTERNATIONAL POLAROID CORPORATION. Sept. 24, 1957 [Oct. 9, 1956], No. 29931/57. Class 98(2) Two exposed photosensitive layers each comprising a portion of a flexible sheet are treated with fluid processing agents provided on opposite sides of a less flexible sheet-like element placed between the photosensitive layers by effecting relative movement between the assemblage and a pair of pressure-applying members, to spread the fluid agents between the layers and the opposed surfaces of the sheet-like element, which latter is withdrawn after a predetermined processing period. Each sheet with the photosensitive layers may include a separable receiving layer for reception of a transfer image. The fluid processing agents may originally have been provided in rupturable containers attached to opposite surfaces at one end of the sheet-like element and may comprise silver halide developers or solvents, and the photosensitive layers may be of silver halide emulsions, if desired differentially sensitised and the use of colour formers, coupling developers, dye developers, leuco dye developers, coupling dyes and so on for coloured image production is described. The assemblage as shown comprises flexible sheets 12, 22 with inner emulsion layers adjacent to processing fluid containers 50 and sheet-like element 34 fastened together by hinge 32, and may be combined with apparatus including pressure rolls 36, 38 to effect operation.
