Abstract

853,696. Bottle carriers for bottle washing machines. BARRY-WEHMILLER MACHINERY CO. Dec. 15, 1958, No. 40374/58. Class 138(1). A bottle carrier for use in a bottle washing machine comprises a bank of interconnected bottle receiving pockets 25, Fig. 2, of rubber or, like yieldable resilient material mounted within a rigid metal frame 22 adapted to be secured at each end to a conveyer chain 10. The side walls of the frame are received in grooves 30, Fig. 4, in the outer side surfaces of the bank of pockets 25. One side of each pocket 25 has an outwardly extending lip 27 over which a bottle is slid into the pocket after the latter has been tilted appropriately. In a further embodiment a continuous lip is provided along one side of the bank of pockets, and ribs are provided in each pocket for preventing bottle wobble. In another construction the pockets are of circular section in plan view.
