852,905. Coating by extrusion. BRITISH IRON & STEEL RESEARCH ASSOCIATION. Dec. 3, 1957 [Oct. 4, 1956 ; Jan. 17, 1957], Nos. 30268/56 and 1774/57. Class 87(2). [Also in Group XXII] Metal is coated with synthetic resin by passing it through reducing apparatus in which the coating material is used as a lubricant. Wire 1 is passed through a drawing die 2, the resin 4 serving as a lubricant and being kept in a molten state in a reservoir above the die and heated by a resistance heater 5. If strip is used instead of wire, reduction is effected by a rolling mill. Specification 740,900 is referred to.
