852,644. Nuclear fuel elements. PARSONS & CO. Ltd., C. A. Oct. 30, 1958 [Dec. 12, 1957], No. 38628/57. Class 39(4). A nuclear fuel element has a sheath 1 with projecting ends. Into the ends are fitted closure members 3 which have one part 5 with a smaller cross section than the rest. The sheath is pressed on to this part., and welded at the end 4. When the element is lifted by a boss 8 the shoulder formed takes some of the weight of the element. Thermal insulation such as mica is provided at 9.
