Class 29 In a continuous cycle absorption system in which the lower part of the flue tube 15 supplies heat to pump 19 discharging into standpipe 21 supplying liquid heat exchanger 11, the heat of the upper part of the tube 15 is used to operate a second pump 27 withdrawing weak solution from the exchanger 11 and returning it to the standpipe. As shown, expeller 13 receives heat from the flue in the same zone as does pump 19 but this is optional. When an electric heater is used, pump 27 is inoperative, but, when a flame heat source is used, the normally wasted heat actuates pump 27.
