Abstract

<PICT:0852153/III/1> In apparatus for spraying articles with paint or other liquid and comprising a chamber through which the articles are passed by an overhead endless chain conveyer, the track 4 and trolleys 5 of the conveyer are protected from spray liquid by a housing attached to the roof or wall 1 of the chamber. This housing consists of a pair of plates 7 disposed on opposite sides of the track, the lower portions 8 of which extend inwardly towards each other to leave a channel 9 for free passage of the conveyer carrier hooks 12, and a number of baffle plates 10, 11, 13 secured to the inner ends of the portions 8 to form a mouth of undulating shape. The plates 7, 8 have flanges 17 for connection to each other and to the roof or wall 1. Where the track 4 is to be suspended below a roof or carried away from a wall a top plate may be secured across the upper ends of the plates 7.
