Abstract

The conveyor belt has a flat base(10) and two vertical sides (20, 20') which give the conveyor the form of a trough. The two sides are perpendicular to the belt(10) but may also be inclined to the base. The upright sides may be fixed to the base by bolting or rivetting. The belt is divided by a number of cross members(21) which form compartments along the belt. The sides of the belt may be made of elastic material allowing the belt to run over drums or pulleys. The material is sufficiently elastic to allow stretching over the bends.
