Abstract

851,758. Collecting litter, leaves &c. HELMORE, W. Dec. 5, 1958 [Dec. 9, 1957 ; Jan. 27, 1958], Nos. 38272/57 and 2744/58. Class 6(2). Apparatus for collecting and discharging litter such as leaves comprises a structure 52, 14 provided with spikes 12 and a movable plate 20 for removing material from the spikes. As shown in Fig. 2, the plate 20 is mounted on a rod 40 fixed to a handle 27 and the structure 52 is mounted on a tube 39 slidable on the rod 40. The tube 39 is moved on the rod 40 against a spring 42 to cause the plate 20 to move relatively to the spikes 12. As shown in Fig. 1, the spikes are mounted between two plates 10, 14 to have limited movement and the plate 20 is mounted on a rod 19 surrounded by a tabular, column 25 fixed to the plate 14 and to a handle 27 and formed with slots 31 through which moves a pin 30 attached to a nut 19a on the rod 19 and to a tube 28 slidable on the tube 25. Movement of the tube 28 causes the plate 20 to remove material from the spikes 12.
