851,477. Folding covers. LAW, R. F. Jan. 15, 1957 [May 9, 1956], No. 14385/56. Class 20(1) A frame assembly for a folding cover, car shelter, tent, hut or the like comprises two support members each having parallel vertical side members 9 for pivotally supporting rigid U frames 10 of which the end ones may be retained against the upper face of a flat base member 8 by means of withdrawable pins 14. One of the end U frames may have a cross member extending across its side limbs to form a platform on which an article or goods to be protected may be placed to facilitate erection of the cover by pulling on the opposite end frame. Flexible covering material is arranged to fold inwardly when the frames are brought adjacent to one another and may be attached to the frames by pockets stitched-on or welded to the covering. In a modification, Fig. 6, a support member is of rightangle formation and has one of the end U members non-pivotally secured to it by bolts or rivets 21; the other U members have forked ends which pivotally engage a single central fin 19.
