Abstract

Finely divided solid material is incorporated in a crystallizable synthetic resin to be moulded by a process which includes the solidfication of the molten resin, whereby crystals formed in the solidified moulded material are extremely fine. The synthetic resin may consist of polyethylene, polytrifluorchlor ethylene, or a polyamide such as poly-caprolactam, and there may be incorporated therein finely divided metal, e.g. aluminium, lead, or copper, graphite, magnesium, zinc, or aluminium oxide, barium sulphate, chalk, sodium carbonate, molybdenum disulphide, cobalt ferric or tungsten sulphide, scheelite, an alkali metal halide such as sodium chloride or lithium fluoride, anthracene, chrysene, and coronene. The synthetic resin preferably has incorporated therein 0,0001 to 0,1% by weight of the finely divided material, and the latter may, if desired be added to the starting materials from which the synthetic resin is made.ALSO:Finely divided solid material is incorporated in a crystallisable synthetic resin to be moulded by a process which includes the solidification of the molten resin, whereby crystals formed in the solidified moulded material are extremely fine.
