Abstract

<PICT:0850416/III/1> A work-holder for electrostatic spray-painting comprises a frame or jig adapted to be supported from a conveyer, and having removably secured thereto fingers or hooks for supporting and locating the work, while having an efficient electrical contact with the frame or jig. As shown, a metal frame 1 is provided with straps 2 for suspending it from a conveyer and making electrical contact therewith. The frame 1 has a number of lugs 4 secured thereto, and these provide tapered sockets 5 for receiving the correspondingly tapered post portions of hooks or fingers for supporting the workpieces. Pins 8 may also be provided for steadying the workpieces, and the frame may be covered with adhesive tape 7. The pins may be removed and replaced with clean ones after each passage through the spraying apparatus, and the tape with its accumulated paint may be removed by slitting when necessary.
