Abstract
In the process for the preparation of gibberellic by cultivation of an active strain of Gibberella fujikuroi (Fusarium moniliforme) in an aerated nutrient medium or media, claimed in Specification 783,611, the temperature of the medium is maintained within the range 27,5 DEG to 30,5 DEG C., and preferably within the range 28,5 to 29,5 DEG C., while gibberellic acid is being produced. This process may also be applied to the multi-stage process in which the final stage, carried out in an aerated unbalanced nutrient medium, is devoted substantially to the production of gibberellic acid from mycelium grown in a preceding, separate, active growth, nutrient medium claimed in Specification 838,039, or to the process in which carbon availability is maintained during the gibberellic acid production stage by adding a source of carbon to the medium, claimed in Specification 838,033. An example is given.
