Abstract

849,765. Textile rug-spinning. ALLGAUER MASCHINENBAU G.m.b.H. Jan. 16, 1959. [Jan. 16, 1958], No. 1748/59. Class 120(2). In a rug-spinning &c. frame having thread guides and balloon restricting rings, both upwardly pivotable, the rings being of smaller diameter than the spinning-rugs, the rugs of each set being spaced at constant distances from the corresponding spinning-rug during spinning, vertical guide rods are secured to the ring-rail &c. and on each rod is arranged a thread-guide and slidable mountings for two or more rings, means being provided to displace the mountings to a position close beneath the fixing point of the thread-guide. In Fig. 2 for each spindle, a guide 5 and two rings each having half the diameter of the spinning ring 6 are pivotally connected to members 21, 10, 11, respectively, members 10, 11 being slidable on a rod 8 carried by the part 7 to which the ring 6 is connected. The members 10, 11, are respectively secured by chains 14, 15 running over wheels 18, 19, one of the wheels 18 and one of the wheels 19 being arranged to drive the corresponding chain, while the associated wheel of a pair idles. The relative positions of the parts are maintained during building and when the ring is lowered when the package is wound, the driving wheels 18, 19 are operated mechanically or by hand to move the rings to positions which are close, together and immediately below the guide after which the guide and rings are pivotable upwardly mechanically or by hand to allow doffing to take place. The arrangement may be controlled by rodding arranged longitudinally of the frame, or the restricting rings and guides may be controlled and moved hydraulically. The various parts may be mounted and controlled as shown in Fig. 6. The shafts 29a, 30a on which the chain-wheels are mounted, and the pins 13a, 13b on which the restricting rings and thread guides are carried, are in sections corresponding to the spacing of the stands of the frame, adjacent sections being secured in coupling sections such as 30, 32, rotatably mounted in members such as 21a, 11. Two shaft-carrying members such as 21a are fixed to the top and bottom of a rod 8, the forward part of the upper shaft-carrying member serving to carry the guide; while the restricting-ring pins are carried by members 11 slidably mounted on the rod 8. The upper and lower coupling- members 30 carry chain-wheels such as 25a 25b one of which is connected to transmit drive from the shaft to the chain, while the other is rotatably mounted; the upper driving wheel is connected by a chain 15 to the lower idle-wheel and the lower driving-wheel is similarly connected to the upper idler 25b, the slidable members 11 being connected to the respective chains at 16, 17. The pins 13a, 13b have secured thereto at 39 pieces of square section to which are fastened the arms of the guides and of the restricting-rings 3; 4. When the shafts are rotated manually or mechanically the chains are moved independently to raise the slidable members 11, taking the corresponding pins 13a, 13b and the rings with them: the pins 13a can also be similarly rotated to raise the guides and rings to vertical positions, the arms on which the rings are carried being suitably cranked, and the members 11 each having a ball catch 42 engaging one of two holes 45, 46 in the corresponding coupling member 32.
