Abstract

849,450. Mineral-mining machines. ANDERSON, BOYES & CO. Ltd. April 18, 1958 [April 25, 1957], No. 13184/57. Class 68(1). The rotary cutter drum of a mineral-mining machine is diametrically split and the component parts of the drum are united by the bolting together of a pair of female annular wedges 14, 15 to bind on mating conical seats 16, 17 at the opposite ends of the boss portions of the parts of the drum. The axial length of the drum can be increased by bolting on to the drum one or more end sections 10a, 10b.
