Abstract

A polymerizable composition comprises a copolymer of methyl methacrylate and a minor amount of methacrylic acid, a copolymer of vinyl acetate and a minor amount of crotonic acid, a polyepoxy compound, a basic organic catalyst, a solvent and optionally a polymeric plasticizer. The polyepoxy compound, atalyst, solvent and plasticiser are as described in Specification 809,658. The compositions may also contain pigments such as titanium dioxide and iron oxide and may be used to coat light metal, steel, wood or polyvinyl chloride surfaces by spraying or brushing, polymerization being then effected by stoving, generally at 60 DEG -120 DEG C.
