Class 107 A traffic circle, for interconnecting a plurality of streets radiating from the circle, comprises at least one winding lane associated with each street and ramps for transferring traffic between the winding lanes and the streets, the winding lanes being arranged in side by side coils. As shown in Fig. 2 a street' such as 41 has an associated winding lane such as 40, shown as a solid line, that winds towards the centre of the circle, extending round the circle less than 360 degrees. Opposite each street each winding lane is associated with an exit ramp, shown as a broken line, that carries traffic leaving the circle to the street at a different level, the ramp carrying traffic below the level of the winding lanes. A number of ramps may, as shown, feed a single exit lane, or, alternatively, a separate exit lane may connect each ramp with a street. Left turn traffic and over-height vehicles may be catered for by a separate traffic circle in the form of a bridge 42.
