A method and apparatus for producing a sound cine film comprises running a prerecorded sound film or tape on a means 1 in synchronism with a cine camera 6 at or below normal speed while casting a series of images into the camera by a fixed image changing illuminating system 10. The images may comprise separate photographs or drawings such as might be used for short-duration films for television advertizing purposes. The separate images 13, 13a are carried on a pair of rotatable turrets 12, 12a, so that the images may be photographed alternately or in superimposition by means of a lens system 14 containing a light transmitting mirror 8 which casts an image on a monitor screen 9.
