Abstract

1520209 Cinematograph editors RAOLODORT 27 May 1977 [25 June 1976] 22401/77 A compensating prism 82, has an outer cylindrical face 80a and in inner face formed regularly with facets 82, each perpendicular to a radius. Light from a lamp 23 passes through a continuously moving film 10 and is reflected by mirrors 88, 90 towards the facets 82, and passes through the prism 80, a correcting lens 84 and an aperture 124 to an objective lens 92 which form a stationary image on a screen 26. Successive images are formed with lap dissolve, unless a second aperture (not shown) is included in the optical part near film 10. The film 10 is supported on a ledge 10a of the prism and on a sprocket 16 mounted on the same driving shaft 60 as the prism. Provision is made for synchronously driving one or more magnetic sound tapes and for reproduction of sound therefrom. The prism may form part of an optical system incorporated in film editing apparatus.
