[Also in Group XVII] A method of making a collapsible tube having a metal (e.g. aluminium) body and a nozzle of deformable plastics material comprises inserting the nozzle into the body from outside so that an inner plug portion 5 of the nozzle 2 fits tightly into an aperture formed by an internal flange 6 of the body, making a seal with the body without deforming the flange 6, the nozzle 2 being fixed in the body by deforming an external portion of the body about an outer portion of the nozzle; as shown, these portions are flange 3 of the body and flange 4 of the nozzle respectively. The body has an internal protective coating. Specifications 812,090 and 847,091 are referred to.
