Abstract

845,877. Radar testing devices. HAZELTINE CORPORATION. July 25, 1956 [Aug. 12,1955], No. 23039/56. Class 40(7). For testing the performance characteristics of a pulse radar system, the aerial is disconnected and the aerial feeder connected at point 37 through a variable attenuator 36 to a switch 35 which in position a connects to a short-circuited transmission line 21 to give a delayed reflected standardizing reference pulse which is displayed by the receiver. In its position b the switch 35 connects to a pulse detector 27 via a pick-up loop 25. The detected transmitter pulse is variably delayed in circuit 29 and then triggers a pulse generator 30 which modulates a variable frequency oscillator 31 which sends a delayed radio-frequency pulse over variable attenuator 32 and radar connection 37, to be displayed by the receiver.
