845,803. Ladders. RAMSAY, R. S. April 15, 1958, No. 11961/58. Class 20(2) A ladder has tubular metal stiles 10 having prongs 20 extending radially inward from the edge of the outer rung receiving hole which engage the end of the rung when it is inserted during manufacture, in the stile, the prongs which are initially splayed outwardly then being forced by a tool into the end of the rung, and into the plane of the wall of the stile, the rung being finally swaged against the stile.
