Abstract

844,465. R.F. couplings. TESLA NARODNI PODNIK. Sept.11, 1957, No. 28649/57. Class 40(7). An aerial switching system capable of connecting a number of transducer lines I, II, III each to any desired aerial feeder chosen from a number, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, has the transducer lines in a plane parallel to and spaced from a plane in which the aerial feeders run in a direction at right-angles. Both the lines and the feeders are two conductor lines and interconnection is made by contact switchgear, shown schematically only in Fig. 1, which disconnects unused line sections and makes the required connections by means of conductor links. One set of switches is shown in plan view in Fig. 2 and comprises a pair of two-pole two-position switches 9, 10 (see also Fig. 1) having straightthrough contacts in the planes of the conductors and interconnection contacts in planes parallel to, but between, the conductor planes. These interconnection contact planes are likewise spaced apart from each other and the conductor links run each between one contact in one plane and one in the other. Following the direction of signal flow the left contact of the first switch is connected to the right contact of the second and vice versa. The conductor links comprise straight sections Pi and P 2 in a plane C perpendicular to the conductor line planes and at 45 degrees to the conductors themselves. The perpendicular distance between P 1 and P 2 is at least as great as the distance between the conductors of the lines. At each end of the straight sections arcuate sections comprising simple curves in the plane containing the straight section concerned and the appropriate switch contact complete the links. The lengths of the sections P 1 and P 2 can be varied to suit the spacing of the lines and like factors, in the limit they may be of zero length.
