Abstract

844,356. Switch cases. MINNEAPOLISHONEYWELL REGULATOR CO. Aug. 21, 1958 [Aug. 29, 1957], No. 26922/58. Class 38 (5). [Also in Groups V and XXXVI] A switch or (as shown) potentiometer is encapsulated by immersing in a neutral non-conductive grease 14, such as a silicon compound or thixotropic grease, in a vessel 15 enclosed by a container 17 which is evacuated, restored to atmospheric pressure, and then evacuated again via conduit 21, so that the grease is forced into openings 12, 13. The grease-filled potentiometer is then cleaned and placed in an open two-part mould 22, 23 into which an epoxy resin is poured and the potentiometer is encapsulated with the exception of terminals 7, 8, 9, sleeve 6, and rotatable shaft 5.
