Abstract

844,187. Fusible cut-outs. MELBOURN, W. F., BESWICK, D. G. E., and BESWICK, K. E. Jan. 7, 1959 [Jan. 7, 1958], No. 613/58. Class 38(1). In an electrical fuse comprising fusible element 4 clamped in bore 2 of porcelain body 1, by leading-out wires 5, the element is secured to the wires by solder 7 run into apertures 3 communicating with the bore. The wires 5 are flattened to provide stop members 6. In a second embodiment the wires, or tails, have an eyelet 9 clamping element 4 through the apertures, the solder being run through shank 11 of the eyelet or into the bore. A further embodiment has a preferably, polygonal bore to take similarly shanks of lead-out tails, solder being run in as before (Fig. 5, not shown).
