Abstract

844,000. Photographic printing processes. LOGETRONICS Inc. June 13, 1958 [June 17, 1957], No. 18995/58. Class 98(2). The contrast during printing is reduced by directing infra-red radiation from a source 28 through the transparency 20 to be printed and onto a uniform fluorescent source 16 so as to quench the actinic light therefrom imagewise, and then directing the unquenched light through the transparency and onto the light-sensitive printing surface 24. As shown in Fig. 1, the infra-red radiation is directed towards the source 16 by a beam splitter 34 and a lens 22, and the unquenched light is focussed onto the printing sheet 24 by the lens 22 and passes through the beam splitter 34. In another embodiment, the beam splitter is omitted and the infra-red radiation is directed obliquely onto the transparency. In an embodiment for making contact prints, the infra-red radiation is directed through the back of the printing sheet which is in contact with the transparency which in turn is in contact with the fluorescent source.
