Abstract
843,608. Looms. METZLER, K. Dec. 4, 1956 [Nov. 19, 1956], No. 36995/56. Class 142(2). In a loom for producing very heavy and multiple ply fabrics, the warp thread groups, supplied by a creel 5 or by several warp beams, are drawn between dividing rods 6-14, through guide reeds, perforated plates, or like aligning apparatus, 15-17, and then between the members of pairs of braking rods 23-32, the members of each pair being displaceable around each other to vary the warp tension. Each pair of rods (e.g. 23, 24) is carried in rotatable end plates (e.g. 18). Pins 49 lock the end plates in the desired position and are themselves locked by set screws 52. The rods are rotatable about their own axes upon release of set screws 51. The warps finally pass over oscillating back-rests 33-35.
