[Also in Group XXXV] In a method of forming shaving-like claws 11, 12, for lead-connections on slip-rings for electrical machinery, the ring 10 is held in a chuck, and a tool 14 is inserted in the ring-bore with its axis substantially parallel and eccentric to the bore, and the ring and tool are rocked relatively to each other. The tool has cutting- edges 20, 21, formed by semi-circular grooves 18, 19. In a modification, two adjacent claws may be joined by dividing each cutting-edge 20, or 21, by a groove.
