840,973. Rippling machines. AGROSTROJ PELHRIMOV NARODNI PODNIK. Oct. 10, 1956 [Oct. 10, 1955], No. 30869/56. Class 120(1). A machine for picking-up, rippling and binding flax stalks comprises a pick-up conveyer 5 which carries a wheel 10 which follows irregularities of the ground and carries flax to a conveyer consisting of a profiled rubber or like band 13 meshing with a similar band on the surface of a wheel 12; a rotary rippling device 16 with a number of combs 17 is arranged at one side of conveyer 12, 13 with its axis at right angles to that of wheel 12; a receptacle 19 for pcds and waste is connected to a fan 18; conveyer 12, 13 leads to a binding apparatus 22 delivering to a cross discharge conveyer 23. The machine is mounted on wheels 2, 3 and is adapted to be drawn and driven by a tractor; or it may be used as a stationary machine, being provided with a spreading table; or it may be used for picking up netted flax, in which case the drive to the rippling device is disconnected. Conveyer 5 is provided with pick-up fingers 6 and a pressure finger 61. A wiper for the rippling combs 17 consists of a number of rubber or like wiping rails 25 mounted on a shaft 26 which can be successively moved to operative position as the previous rail becomes worn. Fan 18 discharges through a pipe 20 and a flexible hose 21 to a cyclone separator mounted on a trailer.
