Abstract
840,754. Two-part couplings. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Sept. 16, 1958 [Sept. 30, 1957], No. 30544/57. Class 38(1). An electric contact in a bridge carrier fuse comprises a copper strip bent into U-form, the limbs 2 having internal line protuberances 5 inclined at 90 degrees in order that good contact is made with contact block 8 and overheating avoided. The protuberances, made by pressing, run transverse to and along the limbs, the latter one ending in hole 6. The contact is attached to fuse body 7 by screw 4. In other embodiments the line protuberances are set at 45 degrees to the limbs whose free ends beyond are removed (Fig. 2 not shown) and a series of protuberances are set in lines at 45 degrees on the outer limb surfaces (Fig. 3 not shown) or along and transverse to the inner limb surfaces (Fig. 5 not shown).
