Abstract

Material for making a constricting tubular bandage is made in the form of a parallel seamless knitted tube with a laid-in evenly pitched elastic warp. The elastic yarn may extend continuously through the fabric, so forming a closely pitched spiral which exerts a uniform pressure when the bandage is stretched over a limb, or two or more threads may be used, starting at spaced points around the circumference. The bandage may be used on the legs, arms, fingers, &c. and is preferably applied in three p thicknesses, being folded back on itself twice. Specification 765,213 is referred to.
