Abstract

840,322. Switch contacts ; mechanical switches, without quick-action. TESLA NARODNI PODNIK. Jan. 1, 1957, No. 98/57. Class 38 (5). In a rotary switch, some of the contacts are formed by U-shaped wire springs which are arranged with their bends disposed towards the axis of rotation and their legs extending towards the periphery of the switch. In one form, Figs. 3, 6 and 8, a rotatable disc 1 carries wire contacts 2, the ends of which are sprung into conical holes 11 and cemented in place. The stator 3 has a circular flange with radial slots 32, 33 and a central aperture 30 with radial grooves 31. The U-shaped contacts 4 are fixed with their bends in grooves 31, their free ends 42 in slots 32 and their parts 43 in slots 33 where they are cemented at 34. The parts 43 are bent to form loops and the free ends are also located in slots 33, their springiness helping to fix the contacts. The contacts 2 are aligned as shown in Fig. 8 so that upon rotation, the point of contact F moves along the contacts 4. In a modification, Fig. 10 (not shown), the moving contacts are formed by segment-shaped foils secured to the surface of the disc 1. Contacts may be arranged on both sides of disc 1 to cooperate with two sets of fixed contacts, and several switches may be assembled on a common spindle, Fig. 12 (not shown), the U-shaped springs may be on the rotatable member.
