Abstract

840,103. Air-break switches. ETABLISSEMENTS MERLIN & GERIN. May 5, 1958 [June 28, 1957; Sept. 27, 1957], No. 14239/58. Class 38 (5). An air-break isolating switch includes a contact-rod or tube 10 suspended from a line conductor 7 and a pivoted arm 2 carrying contact elements 4 which grip the rod or tube 10. The contact 10 may be freely suspended from the line conductor by means of a clamp 8 and flexible braid 9, Fig. 1. Alternatively the contact 10 may be suspended by a spring 16 which is insulated from the clamp at 19, a flexible braid 17 carrying the current from the clamp to the contact 10.
