839,049. Hinges and pivots. KINGSLAND CO. (PLASTICS) Ltd. July 3, 1958 [Aug. 20, 1957], No. 26229/57. Class 65(2) Axial movement of the hinge rod 3 of a closet seat in its supporting pillars 6 is prevented by bolts 9 which apply a pressure to the hinge rod when they are screwed into the pillars and also serve to secure the pillars to the closet pan. The seat (not shown) is located axially on the hinge rod by abutting sleeves 5 of deformable plastic material, e.g. polyvinyl chloride, mounted on each end of the rod and anchored by the bolts 9, or by collars fixed on the rod. The parts 3, 6 and 9 may be made of ferrous or non- ferrous metals or of plastic material.
